I know this post is long overdue, but its finally here. I just want to officially let the entire IAU student population know that I have matched and will begin my psychiatry residency at University of Kansas. I know that there are probably many questions and I would love to answer all of them.
I will post more on how I prepared for Step II and any other information that may be of use to current students.
Again, I wanted to share the good news with everyone and will keep you posted on my experiences as a Resident!

Haha, maybe you can show Kansas what a great resident you are so the rest of us can by-pass the 15-year rule for full licensure... :shake:

I know they say computers are the future, but not for licensure. It is already going to be difficult to obtain a license in some states, online programs almost guarantee that you will be turned down in most states.
This has been discussed at IUHS's forum, a school on a few state's banned lists. International University of Health Sciences (IUHS) - ValueMD Medical Schools Forum (http://www.valuemd.com/international-university-health-sciences-iuhs/)

Thanks for your reply.
Doing all clinical greenbook at IAU, what are my chances on that?
Thanks.

Zero for cores at this moment, which is what many states want to be "green". IAU only has FP at JPH and IM at Harbor Hospital and Baton Rouge in Louisiana.
Harbor Hospital has many green electives. Only Pennsylvania requires all green electives.

First of all I just wanted to say thanks MDPWR. I am really excited about starting in July. As far as greenbook rotations go, I believe that saying there is a zero percent chance of you doing all greenbook rotations is not 100% accurate.
Although currently there are those three hospitals listed, IAU also has students doing greenbook elective rotations at Harbor Hospital. Administration is also moving forward with obtaining more greenbook rotations within in the next couple of months, in order to meet the requirements of increasing number of clinical students.
So I wouldn't say zero chance. I mean of course, if you are looking to transfer straight into clinical and that too right now, you might not be able to do greenbook rotations at IAU. Now, if you are looking to apply and start from the beginning of the program or start in September for that matter, you should be able to do all greenbook rotations.
Hope that helps.
Thank you again.

I did not see any "greenbook" electives listed for Harbor Hospital on any websites. I saw only IM and Transitional year...
FREIDA Online institution information (http://www.ama-assn.org/vapp/freida/inst/0,1238,230459,00.html)
ACGME Accredited Program and Institutional Listing - Public Access (http://www.acgme.org/adspublic/)
Could someone list them?
True, there is there are IAU students at HH doing electives, anyone can contact Howell Jolly (http://www.valuemd.com/members/howelljolly.html) about his experience there.
I meant for cores we're missing peds, ob/gyn, surgery, and psych currently.

I thought states like New York and Texas require greenbook electives as well. Do you know where I can find out more information on that?

I have posted "Form J" from the Texas medical boards website stating that work under 130 weeks must be ACGME certified. Electives over that do not need to be greenbook.
