Its difficult to say which one is better, both may b equally good. However tianjin's english program is older, the student population is larger and many batches hv already graduated!

There are many docs from TMU practicing in the US but they are chinese. so far most of the foreign graduates hv returned to their countries or continued studyin in china.
Last year a pakistani post grad student finished radiology and returned back!
A yemenese girl hu graduated last year is doing an extra year of internship at the SOS hospital in Beijing and will take USMLE along with a coupla of other students next year!

I think India may be considered a good option for those who are of Indian descent. I'm ethnically Chinese, and of the two, I would prefer China in a heartbeat. However, that is coming from someone who has a Chinese background, and fluent in the language and familiar with the culture...

What type of grades are needed to get into TMU or CMU? I don't think there've been any types of postings of this type on VMD just yet. I know that it is extremely difficult for domestic students to gain admissions, but as with many of these programs, it is a different story for foreigners. Anyone over there know these type of stats?

admission is not hard at all, if you are from america and out of high school and have decent grades you will most likely get admission.

I don't know where you have been getting your information but I would double check what you "know." Acceptance into the 5-5.5 year programs in China is not very difficult even for domestic Chinese students. It in no way resembles NA in terms of competitiveness. Med students/doctors are not respected nearly as much here as they are in NA.

Whoever told you it is "extremely" competitive for Chinese students to get into those length programs either doesn't know what they are talking about or is intentionally misleading you. As a rule the best students DO NOT go into medicine here. Partly because the pay is generally pretty low but also it's just not as respected. Many people in smaller cities (one million or less) don't trust the doctors in their cities as they think they wouldn't be there if they were any good.

I'd double check and recheck again whatever your source has told you so far.

As per your question, yes, it is generally not very hard.

I was actually considering more of the top medical schools in the country, such as Peking (北大)and Tsinghua (清华/协和). I would be surprised if it was easy to gain admission into these schools. Are you currently studying at a Chinese medical school? (Feel free to PM me if you'd like :))
