airports around Bakersfield?

What airport do you fly into if you're going to Bakersfield? I have to go to Kern for a shelf because every other place is full, but whenever I try to book a flight into the Bakersfield airport, it says "no flights". Is there some other airport people are using? I have no idea where Bakersfield in relation to any other cities.

You could do LAX and drive, it's about a 2hour drive.

3 hours maybe, if you drive 120mph.

I don't know if they're done fixing up the highway yet, but I think a good path is also flying into vegas, and driving to bakersfield. That's what I planning on doing, if I slip into kern. That way you can hang out in vegas.

The drive from vegas to bakersfield should be about 4 hours.

Like SOE said, LAX is your closest major airport though, you can get to bakersfield in under two hours from there.

yeah, it's about 4 hours from vegas... at least you can gamble. ;)

3 hours south of sf is about in fresno

yes, but probably more for general aviation without many commercial flights.

As per Wikipedia, Bakersfield has it's own airport and services the below routes

Delta --> Salt Lake City
Express Jet --> Sacramento, San Diego
Mexicana --> Guadalajara
United --> Denver, Los Angeles, SFO
US Airways --> Phoenix, Las Vegas
