Hello to all St. Martinus students. I am accepted for May semester and I am very excited to join the student body at St. Martinus University. I have done a lot of research on the school and it seems that the school is doing very well academically and operating in the right direction. However, I am still having some questions and concerns regarding the personal experiences at the school.
I would like to know how helpful the professors are at the school, how many students are currently attending the institution, and your experiences in Curacao. I also would like to know how many students graduated from the MD program. I am hoping to get various feedbacks and if anyone would kindly call me or email me, that would definitely help me even more. Thank you very much for your productive inputs.
Thank you once again. Peace.

First, I would not post my e-mail in a public forum. Second, did you visit this school? Third, did you know the school is being sold? Fourth, did you know the current owner has many legal issues going on including many felony charges? I hope your research showed you this.

I do know that the school's largest share holder is arrested and currently Manipal is in the process of negotiations of owning the largest share of the school. I have spoken to Manipal's administration and they said they can't expose the deal to the public until final words are compromised. I was thinking of visiting the school to get a clear picture of what the school is like and how it is operating, but because of some personal reasons and the lack of time before the start of May semester, I am unable to do so; that is mainly why i am on here to ask St. Martinus students questions that I am unable to obtain. Please exert productive inputs and experiences if you do have one and it would help me more if you are attending the school. Thank you.
I would appreciate sincere and honest answers.
1. How many students are currently attending the school? I have asked a St. martinus recruiter already, but I just wanna double sure from the students who are attending (because they know best).
2. Do the professor seemed helpful and eager to help when it comes to asking questions and personal tutoring?
3. Presently the school doesn't have a loan provider (I've heard that this Friday they will have a result regarding the current application with a loan provider). Do you guys have any suggestions whom I can get a loan from with low interest rate and no monthly payments?
4. Any suggestions and inputs for the best survival at Curacao?
Thank you all.

hey, im in MD 5 rite now in St. Martinus
these r the answers to ur questions:
1. How many students are currently attending the school? I have asked a St. martinus recruiter already, but I just wanna double sure from the students who are attending (because they know best).
-- there are more than 50 students (not counting the ones in rotations) and this is an approximate number.
2. Do the professor seemed helpful and eager to help when it comes to asking questions and personal tutoring?
-- the professors are probably the best thing in the university and its all due to them that we have such high scores in Step 1. they will make sure that u understand the material and provide as much help as u can. yeah, u have a couple which r not that great, but still, they will help u out a lot. of course, there has to be a lot of effort on ur part also.
3. Presently the school doesn't have a loan provider (I've heard that this Friday they will have a result regarding the current application with a loan provider). Do you guys have any suggestions whom I can get a loan from with low interest rate and no monthly payments?
--because of the whole buying out thing from manipal, i am not sure of the loans and stuff. but most of the students r on loans frm like nelnet etc. but i think they have stopped. so u have to check with the administration about that
4. Any suggestions and inputs for the best survival at Curacao?
-- get ready to NOT have a social life cause u have to study ur *** off. but otherwise its a good place, like any other carribean island. its easy to get distracted here, but keep ur focus.
ps... we ourselves are not clear about the whole manipal issue, cause no one is really bothered about telling us and "keeping it frm the public" is prolly one of the administations main goal. god knows why. so rite now, all of us r lost as to whts gonna happen, but hopefully manipal takes over the school soon and ppl like me (esp since we r going to be in rotations pretty soon) will be very happy.
and yes, the main sharehoalder was in jail for some time. but it was apparently concerning one of his other businesses. it did not affect the running of the school.
pps.... so if u r considering this school, then know this: tht in terms of education-- its a really good school. the rest-- well, we r hoping tht manipal steps in very soon and striaghtens everything out.
so gluck in ur school search (if ur still doing tht) and hopefully this stuff helped. feel free to ask other questions.
