Hi,

I am considering the Bougainvillea Apartments as a place to live next semester. Has anyone lived there? What is their water situation like? How much is the electric bill each month? Is it an ok area? Thanks for your help!!

I live there currently with my husband and 2 dogs. The pluses of the Bougainvillea apartments are being close to the beach, the stores (markets, etc), and also that the bus picks you up/drops you off right in front of the apartments. The cons are that the weekend bus schedule isn't always consistent (but weekdays have been consistent so far). Also, there is an overnight guard which makes us feel safer here. The only other con is there don't seem to be as many students in this area even though there are a lot in these apartments because a lot of students live in Lance Epine instead.

The water is kind of odd. They have drainage pipes from the roof that go into big storage tanks. So I think our water is a combination of Grenadian filtered water and rain water. We use the PUR filter because it is the one that filters out bacteria, giardia, etc. The water tastes fine though. You can get water delivered, but we haven't researched that yet. Almost all water on the island is chlorinated and stored in big tanks, but the water coming from the roof seemed odd to us.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for the info! I appreciate it. The water thing is strange, but I am still going to consider the place since they have resonable rent rates AND most important - they accept pets!! :O)

Yes, I am a first termer (I did the 3 class option though so I'll still be a first termer next semester). I actually will be checking the apartments out this Wednesday. I made an appt with Dale. The water thing kinda disappoints me though, but we'll see! Are you still going to be living there again or will you be looking for a new place? How do your dogs like it there? I'll hopefully be bringing my golden retriever back with me. Talk to you soon! Have a good weekend! :O)

What's your name? This is Megan - I am tall and thin... Yes, we will still be living here since we signed a year-long lease. The water has been fine with the PUR filter so far. =)

This is Caitlin. :O) Yeah I am hoping everything goes smoothly. I really would like to find and secure a place before I leave in May. Do you know if they let your store stuff there over the summer if you are planning are moving in August? Just wondering. Oh and where exactly are the apartments? I was told over by food fair. I am still waiting for the manager to call me back with directions. Thanks!

So I went to look at this palce today...not bad, except that the one bedroom apartment is way too tiny. I don't think it is enough room for myself and my dog. :O(

Darn! =( Our 2 bedroom is small, but perfect for the 2 of us with our 2 small dogs. Oh well. =(
