All of the students here on Nevis and I'm sure some that are in clinicals now would love to here from some students already in clinicals. So if you are there now or have already finished please post some of your experiences here about Wycoff.

Started with Peds at Wyckoff. So far so good! A lot of pimping, so you need to read a lot. How much you learn depends on how much interest you exude. If you put forth effort you will learn. Rotation starts about 8 am to 9 am. I make it a point to come in aroun 6 to 7 so to ensure I would be able do admissions and not miss out on any learning experience. Some intentionally come right at the time the attendings arrive so to miss out on getting a patient as others have already grabbed them. They are able to "scoot by", but htat's not really our aim, right? Clinical rotations is also about independent learning (for the most part). How well you learn depends on you. With all these said.....I would say it's great! am enjoying it so far. The babies are so adorable!

Tanaka, how soon after basics did you sit for step 1 and how long after your results did you start clinicals. Also if you want to say ..what did you get on step 1 and did that come into play in terms of preferences and timelines etc..

Thanks again and well done!

Wyckoff has like 8-10 other schools sending their students there. I'm currently doing IM here and it hasn't been very good. My group was only suppose to be 5 students for our attending, but he decided to combine us with his other partner so that they can just come in half a week each. Now our group is about 11 per attending. We can barely enter into the patients room during rounds. That being said, the hospital does have a lot to offer so I just have to make the best of it.
