Warning to the public especially Fil-Am's wanting to go to Fatima:

- First of all I would like to state that I had been so interested going to this school because I learned that they offer core clerkship in the USA. After doing my thorough researc, reading all posts in this forum, and talking to the school myself I came out with a conclusion that I AM NOT GOING TO FATIMA for the following reasons:
- I found a website stating that tuition fee for first year and 2nd second year= $20, 0000.00; 3rd year to Fourth Year= $32,000.00. What the....what are they thinking? Someone can go to Ross, SAba, St. George (all CA approved) with a better education and clinical training without spending this HUGE amound of money and even when you spend this amount of money over there it will be worth your money if you know what I mean....
- I contacted the shool several time, people are rude, and they will not give you any information regarding tution fee....people over there need to be trained on phone et....101 (if you know what I mean)...they keep you waiting for long periods while they know its long distance call!!!
- so the public may know.... that I finally got in touch with my friend who is a graduating student of FU- you need to take the a revalidation examination prior to graduation with the cost of 3,5000.00 per take,,,,keep paying until you pass...they were issues rergarding clerkship to0....SAD- THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONs WHY PEOPLE WOULD EVEN CONSIDER GOING THERE.
- so THE public may now.... that UERM has established a clerkship program in the US as well...you don't have to be robbed like Fatima will....would you imagine a school who won't disclose tuition fee to an interested student....alll schood website has the tuition fee disclosures....try calling FU they won't tell you the real tuition fee...
- so the public may know....that as long as your school approves it..youi can do your clerkship in the USA at you own expense....not as expensive as Fatima...if not...you can do your externship here after graduation just to get the LOR for the match...so what's the big deal about spending all your dollars for Fatima?

-lastly, I really thank all of you who give me the idea to be suspcious about this school...I think it is my moral obligation to let you know what I've found.

Also, I have more info from my friend who is a current student of FU.. Please PM me if you wish.

Everybody....run away from this school....

Gud thing that you found out now instead of later. Well UE is a great school, if you get in there that is great for you. At least you have not talked to the VP of Fatima-Dr. Enriquez-I did for my interview there, What a blowhearted wench! So full of herself, she thinks she is a God because she is a Santos. Trust me, you dont want to meet her or conversate with her. She treats you like her worker instead of a proprective student. Oh well, that is how it's there.

WHile I like UE, and I think it's a good choice if you can afford it, be advised that the clerkships at the UE-arranged sites are NOT ACGME approved, but approved by the Osteopathic boards instead (blue book). WHat that actually means I have no idea, and probably depends on the individual state licensing boards... But if your only reason for picking UE is the prearranged US clerkships, then you should do research and make sure that they will still be accepted by licensing boards.

I attended and withdrew from CIM in 2007 (insufficient preparation, dislike of the PBL system). I am currently taking undergraduate (nursing, med-tech) classes to strengthen my preparation, and will be entering first year medicine @ Southwestern University (MHAM) in June 2008.

Hello Locus!

Gudluck in joining SWU! I wanted to ask something. Where are you from? Are you going directly on a Student Visa or tourist visa then convert it later in the Philippines.

If tourist visa who send u the sponsor letter. Did you pay any tuition fees yet. What was your first degree? Nursing OR Med-tech ??

Thanks lot. It would be of great help.
