Hi, I have applied to Saba and I was wondering if anyones "significant other" has gotten a job on the island? And if so, what type of jobs are available?
Thanks,
ducman

But don't expect to make much money. Most jobs pay between $3-$5/hour. Types of jobs that may be available:
• Waitress
• Retail (dive shop and souvenir shop)
• Island Communication Services (Alida sometimes hires help)
• JoBean Glass - If you are artistic there is a glass shop where you can work and apprentice. If you don't want to work there, you can take classes and learn to make beads. Once you take the class, you can rent torch time and make more!
• There are probably other opportunities, but I'm not aware of those.
You may also have to get some kind of approval to work...
Jobs are really only so your wife/husband has something to do on the island, and it might pay for some groceries, but probably not the rent.

My wife works here. She makes $5.50 an hour. I have never heard of a job on the island paying $3. I think between $5-6 is the norm. She just works to keep herself busy.

That's great that she's making $5.50. Either the pay has gone up, or she's just lucky to get a job paying that. When I was there, any significant others were being paid $3-$5 per hour. I know this first hand, and I wasn't there that long ago. Good luck.
