I have read the previous thread debating between the two schools but that thread was back in 2003. Any new news on both or either school? I will be applying next Fall and am leaning toward SGU. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Has Ross changed that much since 2003? I hear horror stories about Ross but when I attended their open house it sounded like a great place. (Yes, I know it is all about marketing!)
Thank you

I am biased as a current SGU student (although no longer in Grenada) but I would say that SGU has been around long enough that as far as academics go both schools are probably pretty similar.
I have never been to St. Kitts (where Ross is located) but I hear that it can be quite miserable. Grenada (where SGU is located) has its difficulties but I think is quite a bit better overall.
If I had to choose again, I would go with SGU again, for what its worth.

In contrast to sisyphus, I am biased toward Ross (as a current student), but can't honestly speak for SGU, as I've never been there.
One thing I've learned since I've been down here is that you either love it or you hate it. Personally, I love it. The university has gone out of their way to ensure my safety and comfort, most of the locals are very hospitable, the food is amazing, and you couldn't ask for a more beautiful location. Ross itself is outfitted with some amazing, state of the art equipment and is adding more all the time. No complaints regarding curriculum, etc....it is a lot of information, but it is definately managable.
Downsides? The capital is not the nicest place in the world. It can be dirty and attract some odd characters, but as long as you don't live there or wander the streets in the middle of the night, you're fine. There are plenty of clean and comfortable places to live within commuting distance of campus. The only thing you can't do anything about are the heat, the bugs, and the availability of milk at the store. Small price to pay for living in paradise :)
So...take any horror stories with a grain of salt. The people that hate it can have a tendency to embelish. Any questions, feel free to ask!

Had to laugh about the milk. Seems like we have a lot in common ... besides vet school that is.
