So I have heard from some people that Kaplan Pathology is really weak and kind of a waste of time, and I should just do Goljan in stead. What do you guys think? I am going to try to do both but i might not have time.

To those who have taken the test, if you used kaplan, did you think kaplan did a good enough job for Path?

didn't use the kaplan path- used goljan instead. HE was annoying in person, but his notes are spot on.

and before you ask- used ridiculously simple for micro instead of the kaplan notes.

Barone for Kaplan Path is great I heard but he went to Atlanta last year and we got stuck with someone that no one liked in NJ. So yeah, find out who the teacher will be. Did Goljan, the lectures were really good.

well i am doing the videos so Barone is doing the lectures, and besides they lecture from the kaplan book anyway, so i guess the kaplan path book isn't good. but i just heard that the material was "weak", i guess not enough detail? So you guys didn't read the kaplan path books at all? I guess I'll try to do both?

Quick question about Goljan, I have the audio lectures and the pdf file of his notes that go with the lecture, plus I have 70 images/slides that I guess go with the lectures as well, am I missing anything? Should there be more than 70 slides/images?

i completely agree with rok. i had questions from the step that was on his notes. if you have time, read BRS path as well. it hits some things that goljan missed

I didn't read Goljan or Kaplan. BRS Path FTW.

and how did you feel you were well prepared for the path q's on the exam? and FTW isn't a great attitude for a future care giver.

Hmmm.... considering this is an anonymous internet FORUM, not a weekly M & M, I don't think 'FTW' is a problem. Please please please don't comment on my 'attitude for a future care giver'. Do you think you were some sort of saint (I was on the island while you were there eu).

I did very well on step 1, feel free to PM me if you want my score.

RJ at it again.

Rapid Review Path was good, but very dense. Kaplan path along with all of Barrone's notes included, was more than enough for myself.

just finished barone's live lectures and he was amazing. i'm very impressed with his teaching and it reminded me a lot of dr. GM from anatomy.

yes he's not bad but there are some mistakes i think in their notes. For Gaint Cell tumors of bone he said they're uncommon and malignant while Robbins says they're pretty common (20%) and mostly benign. Also both robbins and the physio notes say that for a goiter to develop you need high levels of TSH, while he says that in a multinodular goiter levels of TSH are normal....
