I was in the outpatient clinic which was a great experience, it was usually 9-4. There are 3 doctors there, they all have different schedules, one of them is there only 3 days a week and works like 9-12.
Detox is only a few hours a day, the easiest rotation. This is great when you are studying for step 2.
Don't know much about inpatient but I think it's usually 9-3/4.
There's a lecture everyday at noon.
You do 2 evening calls and one weekend call (usually you are out by 3 pm).

thanks a lot for info...
Is there anything we should have as far as equipment or any particular references that would be helpful to carry?

Probably a drug book, which ever one you have. you don't need a white coat.

Yep it's in Far Rockaway, you take the "A" train to get there.
Ask people who have taken the psychiatry rotation more recently though, because I know that they changed it to being more hours since January 2008 or so, and changed the way that they arrange things in general.

I was in the day program there. Go in 9:30-10:00am, be done by noon or 1:00pm. By far the simplest rotation. Complete cake. But also the most respectful place I've been. They treat you like a real doctor, they treat you with respect, and everything else. I was used to being treated like a complete piece of garbage at Wyckoff, so coming here was really refreshing.
