Hello everyone. Yippie! I am one of the first students to take advantage of Saba's approval for unlimited clerkships and residency training in NY. I am happy because NY is home!
I matched in anesthesiology and preliminary medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. It was my top choice! Anesthesia was quite competitive this year and I feel fortunate as a foreign grad being able to match.
As a FMG there is a definite disadvantage when going for residency training compared to all US grads including DO's, but if you do well on boards, especially step 1, you can get to where you want to go.
I am very appreciative of the administration for their due diligence in their NY application making sure that their t's were crossed and i's were dotted. I feel that this same diligence will make us eligible for licensure in California in the near future. Thanks Saba University School of Medicine!
Good luck to all. Time to have a cocktail or two or three...........
