Hi,
I made a grave error in booking my plane ticket to Saba for the upcoming Jan. 08 semester.
It turns out that my plane will be touching down on St. Maartens friday Jan. 4th at 4:30PM.

Unfortunately, because of this, I will be missing all the Winair / Dawn II / The Edge schedules.

The next earliest one would be available the next day (Saturday, 9AM with The Edge or 7:05AM with Winair.)

I was wondering what people would advise me to do, (besides trying to switch flights).

Also, does anyone know where the cheapest place would be to stay overnight on St. Maartens (what's the currency there?)? Or would just sleeping on the beaches be fine? :p

Thanks everyone!

I'd immediately book a night at the Turtle Inn right next to the airport - clean and affordable.

Ditto. And a nice affordable restaurant for breakfast.

Tell the Turtle Inn that you are a Saba student and they should give you a local rate. It will be something around $79 and that will include breakfast. As for what I would do, I would book the flight the next morning. I just saw the faces of those who took the boat this morning. It wasn't pretty.

Apparently the Turtle inn is booked for that night.
Would people recommend another place?
(Would it be possible to just stay overnight at the airport or something? I don't mind roughing it out for 10 hours.)
Thanks everyone

Once you see the SXM airport, you will understand why overnight stay is not possible. Besides, I don't think it remains open all night. Try the Maho, its pretty close to the airport and a really nice facility. They also offer student rates.

Nope, none available...
Any more recommendations?

Try Mary's Boon (http://www.marysboon.com), which is right next to the airport. I've heard that management has changed recently and prices have also gone up. We loved it every single time we stayed there but things may have changed since.

Thank you everyone, I was able to book a night a the Travel Inn Hotel.
(I know it's not that great of a place, but at least I won't be sleeping on the beach).
