Hello everyone, I am planning on attending XUSOM in January, and I was sent by email an advertisement for NAYOSTRAAT APARTMENTS they're asking for $ 850 two bedroom unit so I'm asking if anyone is interested in having a roommate we can split the price. I've never been on the island, I don't know what to expect, so I'm hoping it isn't a bad place. Contact me if anyone is interested.

Well, I still haven't heard a word about housing, though I've been asking every week about it. I keep being told that the emails aren't getting through - albeit I'm told they're not getting through in, you guessed it, emails!! Unfortunately, my living needs exceed the dimension restrictions that would be placed upon me by my sleeping bag. I'm just picky like that I guess.

I'm definitely coming down to Aruba, to sight see and demand my money back, or to study - depending on how finding a place to live goes. Communication could certainly be a lot better! So anyway, you could PM me the address if you like and I could look you up when I get down there. I'm glad that somebody's finding housing at least. Oh well, at least I won't freeze to death!
:(

I've never been to a Caribbean country before; it should be a lot of fun , however things play out. Either I'll fulfill my dream to study medicine, or I'll take some much needed R & R for my aching back.

I've tried calling and emailing to no avail. As I say, I really don't understand why I haven't heard anything, but my plane ticket is booked regardless. Needless to say, I'll be a little ticked if I have to stay at a 5 star resort for weeks on end while I look for a place to live. Albeit the all you can eat buffets, massage, pool side bar and other amenities might be nice, the cost would be a little much for a student's budget in the long term. Maybe I could get a part-time job as a cabana boy. :) What is a cabana boy anyway? Oh well, I find out when I get there.

I'll send you a PM with my email address - I have enough spam mail as it is without posting it publicly - thanks.

Well good luck with housing...cuz i had the same issues getting in touch with people and so forth. So i went down there and I sorted it out myself. HOTELS ARE EXPENSIVEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i had the cab drive take me to cheap cheap hotel. Ask for VICTORIA HOTEL...its about 10 min walk from school, and was about 50 dollars a night...it was really really really run down, BUT it saved me tons of money for 2 nights..and i got a much nicer place. So um compare 50 bucks a night to the avg 250 a night resorts....i would go with the ghetto spot
