XUSOM is one of the better schools, so I just wanted to find out how they stack up against Dr. R's [past owner of Ross] new school, UMHS.

Here are some of the pics on their website
CAMPUS PHOTOS (http://www.umhs-sk.org/CAMPUS_PHOTOS/campus_photos.html)

Fossildoc how do rate XUSOM against UMHS's new facilities?
Is it on par, or XUSOM is better?

Any whichway, good and healthy competition between XUSOM,UMHS and SJSM will better the standards of all the medical schools!

Let me know what you think!

campus and setup looks very good. Only thing is, new school so will need time but if they work like Ross i think they should over take XUSOM and SJSM for sure.

WOW its actually pretty nice. And its Dr. Ross who is behind this. And it says he believes "a univerity is only as good as its faculty". I think they have a good recipe for success there.

again its still a new school, and anything can happen. For all you know a group of investors may have Franchised his name..LOL.

But thier campus looks impresive..

XUSOM aruba, SJSM do not have a facility like that at all. SJSM is a complete feeder school like all saints....way to many issues and problems.

Hi, Immuno. I haven't been on for a while, and I just noticed your post.

Contrary to common opinion, I do not know everything about everything. I know everything only about things I know nothing about, which should be apparent in my posts.

I heard about this new school only a few days ago from noneother than a teacher, who of course will remain nameless, and not just because of the tos. When I looked at the picture of the building, I thought right away of MUAB, whose picture you should check out if they haven't taken everything down yet. It looked like the "state of the art" building as described on their site, but I spent two semesters on that crocodile-infested swamp of an island where the scorpions wait for you to put your feet in your shoes without shaking them out first. The ony "art" the building could be the "state of" was precambrian. Also, I'm not impressed with pictures of the local flora and fauna, which are nice if you're a tourist but irrelevant if you're a med student.

As a risk-taker, I'd jump into any new school that looked like it was well-funded, but since I am nearly done, I can't do that. I only hope that the school's owner can resist some of the practices that brought his former school some grief, such as graduating more students than he had rotation slots for.

And I'll give the same advice I give prospective students considering coming to Xavier: visit the campus! If you find deceptions on the web site regarding the physical plant, accreditation, or other things important to students, you should assume that that reflects the general attitude of management (tell 'em anything to get their money). I believe truth works better in the long run; students will tolerate almost anything if they feel like the school is honest with them.
