new buildings??

I was wondering if anyone heard any news on the so called upgrades to the facilities on the Xavier Aruba campus? On the website it states "We are in the process of renovating our future campus facilities of about 30,000 square feet. This campus will encompass state of the art facilities, with modern medical library, multi disciplinary educational programs, health fitness center, and magnificent auditorium".
Is there any truth to this message or is it just to reel in prospective students in hopes of a brighter future for the school??

ITS A LOAD OF CRAP, I am sure they WANT to do it, and they have been saying that they are in the process for the past few years. BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT. I'll believe it when I see it

Its like me saying "I AM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING A FERRARI"...but realistically its not gonna happen, at least for a very very very long time.

Just as an update I did hear from the Aruba office that land was purchased next to the hospital (where anatomy lab is currently held) and that is where the new campus will be built. Don't know the details on when the groundbreaking will be but i guess only time will tell.. I won't hold my breath but at least they have a plan.

Yeah that is old news....they have had that plan for quite a while now. And they would say every new sem we are gonna break ground and you will see things happen this semester.... but they gave up saying that too.

this semester they did buy 2 new buildings and are having classes there from what i've heard.

i belive from what i've heard they are in the "happy mall" and the entire pre-med has been moved there. Also cafetria has been opened too again thats what i've heard from students there so dont quote me on it!

Um.... They never purchased happy mall. its the pink building with a mosque behind it. The K family happens to have ties with that property also..K senior runs the mosque, and K jr runs the school and is a part owner. Dr.G is dean and Dr.B is majority owner from atlanta, and Dr C for clinical is a no body who likes power. So in fact they never purchased anything, and they had to produce something.....and so welcome to happy mall...which is already part of the K family assets.

well whatever is the case, all i heard is there is 2 new buildings runing classes along with the old 3 we had! Dr.C is a nobody who does nothing btw haha

In psychology they say that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. By analogy, when evaluating the inducements of optimistic web sites, examine a claim that's been there for a while and see if it's come to pass.

The promise that we, through the library, will 'soon' have access to a gazillion online medical textbooks and journals has been on the first page of the schol web site for over two years. Your mission -- should you choose to accept -- is to visit the library and make an evaluation of that promise. Then extrapolate the results to the proferred building plans.
