Any updates on the profs that will be teaching here? As well as the dean? I believe the dean is the former dean from AUC?

The Dean and Provost of the University is Dr. William Thurman. Dr. Thurman has been associated with Dr. Ross for approximately 30 years. During those years, he served as a consultant to Dr. Ross while holding prestigious positions at medical schools in the United States. In addition, he was CEO and Executive Dean of Ross University School of Medicine. After Dr. Ross sold the medical school, Dr. Thurman served as Dean of Basic Science at AUC for two years.

A member of Alpha Omega Alpha and author of 59 peer-reviewed articles and two book chapters, Dr. Thurman brings a wealth of administrative and medical knowledge to UMHS.

You are asking for a simple answer to a complex question. At Dr. Ross' age, most men are sitting around reminiscing with their friends about the good old days, not running a major business operation. To some extent, Dr. Ross thought that "retirement" sounded good and envisioned himself playing golf and relaxing. Certainly, he would not have sold Ross University if he couldn't get a fair price for it so money was also part of the equation.

On the other hand, you don't accomplish all that Dr. Ross has accomplished by sitting idly around. It's difficult going from a very active existence to one that is more contemplative. After going into retirement, he became restless and started looking for more niches where he could provide educational services. Out of this, UMHS was born.

I know this is not a complete answer but it gives you an idea of some of the factors that went into the sale of Ross University and the start-up of Dr. Ross' newest ventures.

This was a pretty valid question to ask considering what has happened with Ross's clinical situation since Devry took over.
