View Full Version : Good teachers
Teachers are what make a school better. It cost money for good teachers. And an admin concerned about their students is willing to invest money in good teachers. I have been saying over and over that this school is not like other schools which is interestedind making money.
So the good news is this, we do currently have good teachers...but the school is working on being better. As you all know the Neoucom (a med school in ohio) model is being used for Xavier bonaire,,and they are currently in the process of getting proffesors that teach there to come as visiting proffesors to come teach at Bonaire. (kind of like what Ross does, thus they are so good).
I think that is great news, and wish i had the chance to be taught by AMAZING teachers for basic sciences.
ps. I have very reliable sources, and had convo about this with the dean.

the teachers are not on the website...but they are in the process of signing on visiting professors. I will update as more info unfolds. The Teachers on the web site, i have not been taught by any of them so I cant really pass judgment about them.
And yes the cirriculum is modeled of off neoucom (i dunno if i spelled it right, google it)

They have taken my advise and greatly improved the website. That's a plus. We look forward to hearing more when you learn about. Remember you can't post names - however you can post links to websites.

James- I don't think they are checking up everyday to see what you have to say and taking your advise....they are doing what they have to do and doing a good job at it...but if that makes you feel good then you can think that:)

The website came up. It is good to see you'll are keeping your heads down and working hard. That is the way to positive improvement.

ams replied "The only good teachers at Aruba...is the guy teaching Patho. The rest are garbage,,because the good ones walked out...so they go get whom ever they can get to come teach for the lowest salary possible.
Bonaire has a great Patho prof, great Pharm prof, and also a great Physio Prof....and some of these prof also teach other subjects like micro, immuno, ..oh yeha and thier Anatomy prof is darn good. This is the feedback that I have gotten from students who have attended thier classes, I have not attended class with these profs. But i can tell you this...thier faculty is better and is happy to work there (no walk outs yet). And they are working on improving thier faculty.
Dr.Ross founder of Ross Univ..believes that an Institution is known by its faculty."
Can some of Bonaire current student confirm if the teaching there is as good as mentioned by ams above?

I come on here quite often but unfortunately I never went to the island for my first two years of study. If you have any questions about the clinical rotations though I can definitely help with those!

The original question was how is the teaching and how are the teachers at XUSOM, Bonaire. You are going :offtopic:

I don't see an issue with hearing about rotations - I don't think it is off topic.

If the Xavier forums had a moderator he/she could split this thread. Posters are welcome to start a new thread on this topic if you'll wish.
As that the Xavier forums have had this summer some pretty bad posters who did massive flames and insults of other legit posters that led to them being permanently banned. It is normally a low volume forum for the most part. We look on here as needed.
