January Admission...?

Those students that matriculate in January will graduate before their match residencies will begin. What do most students do in this interim period? Is it possible to start early? Maybe do some additional clerkship rotations independently? Or, do students merely bide their time until residencies start?

while it is possible to graduate in december, not many ppl choose to do this. rather most ppl use the extra time jan students have to take off to study for step 2 and also for residency interviews, so most still graduate in may/june
