Hi to everyone on this site. I have a doubt ...apparently the age for starting Pap smears has change. The way i learned on Kaplan was that you have to start doing Pap smear was at 18 y/o or at the beggining of sexual intercourse. I just did a question on the USMLEworld that deals with this subject and it says that now you start at 21 y/o or 3 years after you begin sexual intercourse. I investigated on The American Cancer Society site and apparently it really has change. This question could come on the step 2 and my question is, should i listen to USMLE world better or keep Kaplan guidelines?...well i hope this helps other people too.

the official ACOG guidelines is what is usually used in test questions since that is the specialty organization. it is 21yrs or 3 years after intercourse whichever is first then yearly until you get 3 negatives

Thanks for your quick reply, ive been having a hard time with the differences between Kaplan and the USMLE world and which one i should follow. I know USMLE world its more updated, but for purposes of the test its difficult to know which one to follow cause sometimes they say in Kaplan that some guidelines arent changed because it takes time to let everyone know the new guidelines. I ve heard that First Aid is good but everytime i have a doubt, i cant find anything about it on this book. Well thanks anyway. Good day and good luck to everyone preparing for any test of the USMLE.
