Absolutely,
If I can help anyone out it will be my pleasure. First of all I want to thank everyone on this site. SOE and IMG were great and wonderful in directing me towards the USMLE world. I started studying for about 3 months. I listened to Goljan throughout the studies and did systems based studying. You have to do it that way, it is how the USMLE is set up. I found studying with first aide and USMLE world at the same time helped reinforce the concepts outlined in USMLE world. I have to say that I bought every book out there known to man and it really was a waste of time.
My main resources were
USMLE world 2 times learning each and every concept..Initially I was scoring in the 50 by the end I was scoring in the 70's and 80's
I bought goljans recent book and went along with it with his audio tapes
I highlighted and copy and pasted notes in first Aide. It was a mess when I was done.
I can not stress that U must learn the concepts, I found myself just reading first Aid, then I would stop and do questions pertaining to that concept. You can not just read it....
Goljan is money...he really is...study say cardiology, then do USMLE world questions, then listen to him...it helps cement the concept in your mind. I had a subscription to USMLE world, and Kaplan and honestly Kaplan is nothing like the test, but world is definately like the test.
