wow,

i see so many ppl trying to go to the usa.

but i am already in the usa and was wondering about going to canada. i guess the snow is always greener on the other side of the border.

anyways, i am going to MUA-Nevis in the caribbean and was wondering if i would be able to do a residency in canada, or if i couldnt, then could i get a medical license in canada after getting a medical license in the usa??

thanks for the help.

Hello!
you sure can do both! .....Canada, where Healthcare is free for everyone!

either apply through CARMS (as an International Graduate), they actually reserve special spots for people coming outside Canada,

www.carms.ca/

and yes, you can do the other way around, finish and then come to canada, but, you will have to pass some exam again, like your specialty exam.

Your better off applying to a residency and do everything here if you enventually want to come here!

have a nice day

Almost all of the residency spots in Canada available for IMGs are reserved for citizens/residents. But if you complete your qualifications in the US, and become board certified, there is a possibility that you can transfer your credentials to Canada. Keep in mind that the school you go to can make a difference too.
