Why dont you stop complaining?
You came on the forum with your would be school and you bash SJMS and St Marts and other schools.
Then you complain when you get a whipping. After all folk who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
Why is it that you can not understand what is being asked of you?
If they are errors on your website-- correct them.
If they are unkept promises that you have made-- keep them if you can.
If you cant- keep quiet and stop making a fool of your self. You are adding fuel to the fire every time you lash out.

The point is, if you as a school administrator want to be taken seriously you should sit back and not get involved on this level, you're time would be better spent improving your school and letting your efforts show that way. AUC's Dean is on VMD as well and there is always alot of arguing and people from other school's bashing and our own students complaining, it happens at every school. Its just part of it, its a forum for debate, people say things you don't like and you have to be judicious with your response, ESPECIALLY given your position. You never see our dean or deans from any of the other big schools get involved on that level. I would be embarrassed of my school if they did.
The moderators are trying to do their jobs, yes some of these rules are subjective, no they won't catch everything, and yes maybe there is some bias involved. The only variable on that list you have influence over is the bias, that is a simple fix, act like a school administrator and not an upset student.

Am I the only one who's noticed that for practically every accusation with which you've been faced, your favourite defence seems to be a variation of "well, everyone else is doing it", instead of actually answering the questions?
What next? The moderators are responsible for CMU's charter woes? The moderators deliberately hacked CMU's website and made it look so obviously plagiarised? The moderators were on the grassy knoll?
And by the way, wouldn't re-posting all the information for which you've gotten infractions just earn you another one?

Yes, I think its fair. I got an infraction for my behavior, I deserved it. I accept my punishment. Culpability and integrity are required in our field. Give it up already. CMU and its leadership is a disgrace. You have plagiarized materials from SGU (with no explanation or apology) and intentionally misled potential students. An infraction on a website is the least of your troubles. I truly feel sorry for the people you have duped.

Hi,
It sounds like a threat and I am really scared of possibility to be banned.
On the one hand VMD is good site for prospective students to get info rgding med schools, uncover shady business etc. But on the other hand I am very surprised with some moderators. I've never met so many people united by complex of superiority. The main agenda is ego trip! Their unprofessional and immature behavior discredits idea of VMD. Look what you wrote to me! You think that this is proper way to address person you never met and know nothing??? Do you want to say that you are so powerful that you almost rule the world and slight change in your mood can get me banned??? With this comes question: Does anybody control moderators???
What I expect from moderators is polite way of conversation without showing in almost every post that I AM THE BOSS!!!
Why I was concerned about SH banning is cause SH was very up to the point and did not hesitate to tell the truth. It looks to me that somebody is not convenient with the stile and approach of SH.
This student is sharp and honest person who does not afraid to express opinion. I seriously doubt that it was violation of TOS.

Multiple accounts per person is automatic banning per valuemd policy (so I have been told).
If SH needed several accounts to "tell the truth", then I question his honesty.
SH is not a student but an instructor at St. James <-- that's what I figured out eariler (but I could be wrong since there are some who are not who they appear to be).

I agree..I have never seen moderators so opinionated.
Mods need to clarify if they are moderating the mechanics of the forum or if they are regulating the content. TOS for the moderators should be made public for the sake of transparency as well, so that if mods violate the TOS, someone can dicipline them.

That is the problem with automatic system. I've seen people banned by mistake of the system... And if you go through SH posts you'll notice that SH does not need two or more accounts to tell the truth, It just does not make a sense because of the consistency of of the posts.

DVTYou are way too serious! As long as you don't have multiple accounts on VMD and don't violate the TOS - you will be fine. The CMU is a heavily moderated forum due to flaming - trolls and other discontent posters using vulgar language. So far Superhumper has not - written to say - my bad I had several accounts - please let me back in if I am good. Yes, we have unbanned several people who fessed up. So far no confession...So we will assume the ban is proper.

DVTDVT the system is not totally automatic. Can't tell all the in's and out's cause I don't know, I think and am not sure but once you are infracted - the system watches you closely. SH was infracted two times, so it was almost certain you sharp and honest poster violated TOS with multiple accounts.

There are several mods who have been banned. We are volunteers. We are not paid a cent, we read just about all the posts on the forum and within our area. Just because we are mods does not mean we don't have opinions. We do not regulate content unless it violates The Terms of Service. We do protect the forum from SPAM, trolls, abusive and goof-ball posters. Supermods have been mods for several years and are often on several forums as moderators.

No freedom of speech here?
Depends. Freedom of speech doesn't mean the administartors of a forum should put up with foul language, threats, etc. Your freedom of speech in a forum or blog is limited to the limits imposed by its administrators through its term of service that each and one of us agreed when we signed up for it my friend. We breach that agreement, we get penalized, very simple. Besides, getting banned from a forum it's not like you got fired from your job and you won't make a living, or its going to be in your public records or resume , etc. If that happens to you, just move on to another forum that may tolerate what the other one did not.

Well, medicine is a respectable career, however it's members are not necessarily respectable representatives of the career. It comes down to each individual's views. We just can't stop someone from being who they really are just because they got a degree, and education does not make a gentleman, nor does make a lady.

I think the mods are a bit too sensitive and may this " moderating thing " may have gottent to their heads . Every post here is a contribution to the forum . Some forums even thank you for contributing after every post . I can understand the need to monitor the forum for those that threaten others etc but I think the moderators go overboard when some members like myself try and be funny/ silly ..in a subtle , ambigious way ..even that gets one banned these days ...it takes away the fun from the board ..would be better to just ask someone to edit their post first ..but no they won't do that ..it just doesn't give them that sense of power as banning or giving an infraction ..
There are defintely two or three mods out of the whole lot who are way over their heads with this moderating thing I may even get an infraction for this post ...who knows :)?
Maybe some of these folks wanted to be cops and they are sublimating that ambition into moderating this board ?
I was a real cop ..and I knew serious offenders versus those that offenses that a slap on the wrist would suffice ..but hey enuff about my ramble ..like i said i just might get banned for this ;)

Firefighter brings a good point. In fact most people are indeed asked to edit their posts before infractions are given. In spite of the fact that all users agree to terms of use upfront and are expected to know them. Typically when someone gets an infraction its because they have chosen to ignore requests or there are multiple violations in spite of requests, or a first violation was reasonable serious. So interpret a person's infractions within that context. If one doesn't agree with the terms of use that they are asked to agree to, they of course may opt to use a different forum.
