It depend who you ask.
Some people prepare for 1 year. others for 5 months and others in 2-3 weeks is all they need to get 99. for real so it all depends on your unique situation.

PS
As and advise "Come on, don t be lazy to write" writing that, people might not see it as a joke, and might have the tendency not to reply.
I reply because I know it was Joke :0)

Hi Survivor,
thanks for nice reply:)
I thought we all live in the same world and LAZY means LAZY in exactly the same way as it was witten and meant...There is absolutely no big deal about it! I was just curious about what people, nice guys here tell me about the time which is necessary to spend by studying that stuff! To be honest,
this is not my starting position in studying ... I am medical student in 5th year of stadium, next year is gonna be my final... I tried to study from USA books for Step 1 also while preparing for my exams at my university in my home country.
That is the point which I am not able to recognize whether it is OK with the time or not...I am going through UW and planning to buy Kaplan Qbank too.
What is the average normal time for preparing and be really ready to go to exam to be a better average above 85? I am studying 8 or 9hours per day, that is my max...
Thanks for nice avices and hope to hear from you all soon :)

prepared 5 months, i think it's what you put into those months. some people just don't know how to study effectively, some do. some people are really smart and don't need as much time. some are on the slower side, and just need to work really hard at it.

I was just wondering were you guys preparing while in school or you took five months off to just study. I know it sounds like a dumb question but seriously how can people afford to do that. I guess move back in with your parents for some time. ;)

well , i think its all depend on your own situation. im preparying now for STEP1 , same time im doing my internship in my own home country, in addition , it has been 3 years since i review basic scienice materials..so in summary i think i need at least 5 month to prepare... ..in order to get a high high score
