One side of this entire situation that is dangerous and always neglected is what happens when these types of schools cannot deliver on their promise of assisting a student to become a licensed practicing doctor in the US.
Dreams and futures are shattered when students do not realize their goals and on top of that an incredible amount of financial debt is accumulated. They may not have a chance to pay it back if they cannot realize that goal. A life-long burden no one should have to bear.
A student who attends a school that does not adequately prepare them for exams may end up failing or because of the institution they are not able to become licensed. Words cannot explain the devastation that could become their reality.
These institutions need to think about these things before they try this get-rich-quick scam or spring up everywhere like mushrooms.

You would think that any student who would commit to these type of school will research all aspects of the school and its education first. That way at least they know what they are getting into. But I doubt that a lot of student at schools like cmu weight out the goods against the bads. They believe what they are told or what they want to believe rather than looking at facts. And to be honest If somebody who doesn't have the ability to make the right decision based on all the facts and evidence doesn't deserve to be a doctor in the first place. After all isn't thats what being a doctor is all about?

Which is the entire reason for the controversy here.......
A school without the proper credentials cannot get people licensed, and they cannot practice.

Can you in your wildest Imagination , fathom the idea of the presidents of Ross, SGU , AUA , SMU , AUC , SJSM etc acting in the unprofessional manner the way this R.L guy conducts himself on VMD ? That alone should act as a deterrent .

how come there is so many multiple account out there? i think vmd should change their policy and give each person personal id through school or something before the forum becomes a joke. as i was going through cmu treads there was so many post that was made by mutple account users it makes you think that vmd really doesn't care. come on make your forum legit and get rid of these multiple account users. its funny when i joined yesterday someone said that have a another account. that should tell you something. anyone that post something that is half way bais everyone start yelling that this person has multiple account. well better get back to studying.

That alone should act as a deterrent .Dunno. Actually,as an AUC student, the faculty joke about valuemd and do not tend to post on the forums. They have students without better things to do to with their time to smear the facts about their schools all around the valuemd forums. I would hope students do research on their schools prior to investing time and money; however, there are always people who do not pay attention to all the details, or attend hoping for the best (going with that pioneer spirit).

Personally, I use valuemd as a good source of reference. If I want to find some real information, I use the hyperlinks that are provided by different members to find out more information about things such as state laws, 5th pathway and other important information. Valuemd is more like a portal for me and I do not rely on it for solely for trustworthy information.

those with multiple accounts on "black listed" IPs are automatically banned after a few posts or so, sometimes immediately. other users are investigated and banned in that regard.
i don't think it would be a good idea to have a personal ID through school...many users like to keep personal information like that on the DL, others transfer from school to school and people may not even know it. besides, i think our system works pretty well right now. any user you suspect is a multiple-account user, report it and we'll investigate.

The truth is that a lot of truth is posted on valuemd.
To say that students who post on valueMD are those without better things to do to with their time is nonsense. valuemd is perhaps for those who post a welcomed break from studying (its better than drinking oneself drunk or doing drugs) and it does not take all that long to keep up with what is going on in the schools discussed. Prospective students can learn a lot about the schools and the islands on these posts. Not everything is true, but lots are----sufficient to make valueMD more than valuable time spent.

i love it when somebody who doesnt agree with you reverts to the statement..... "you should be studying instead of posting".... or "i think your time all day would be better spent studying than on VMD".

In the same category I classify 4 schools, with no charter and making claims that their grads are elegible to take the USMLE board tests:
1- CMU (No charter therefore no IMED listing)
2- DELPHI ( River Hutt Principality not recognized as a country or nation, per IMED themselves, Docplucinsky and myself got separate emails from IMED-FAIMER confirming this)
3- IMSA (No charter )
4- S. University (This one is surrounded by a halo of mystery since it allegedly operates out of Native-American territory or a U.S. based military facility with a charter from an unknown country, well, knwon only to students who join them, like a secret society or something similar) Per their own website...."campus is on a sovereign Indian reservation in Lake County, CA, which we believe WHO will recognize sometime this semester"
Well, thats the problem, THEY believe, honestly I don't see how that will happen, if it does I will be the first one to apologize. Believing is one thing, that it actually happens is another.
