Hey guys
I was reading a Saba tourism site and it says that the island has interesting cloud movements. Does this mean constant rain?
I'm asking, because I was wondering if having a motorcycle down there would be a good idea? Like, I would buy a beater bike down there and ride that. Are there many for sale down there? How is insurance handled?
Or maybe just a bicycle.. :)

Adding to this, are there gas stations, etc down there? I just can't imagine all the stuff they will have, being so small and so lowly populated!

I wish there was constant rain. I had to buy water this week (actually only the second time since I've been here). Bikes are a viable mode of transport, but I'm not sure there's alot of "beater's" on the island. You can probably find something affordable to ride either here or St. Maarten.
Insurance is remarkably cheap. Car insurance runs in the range of US$250 per year. I can only assume motorcycle insurance is cheaper.
Best of Luck!

So they do have motorbikes for sale there? If on St Marten, how easy is it to get it from one island to the other?

And what about other types of transportation? Is it too hilly for things like pedal bikes?

There are a few dealerships on SXM - even a Harley dealership. Getting a vehicle shipped over isn't very hard or terribly expensive. Availability of motorcycles on the island is not as plentiful as cars but there are often notices about Motorcycles and scooters on the board at school.
I have seen very few people (almost nobody) use bikes (ie "pedal Bikes") as transportation here. It's just too hilly and the cars don't seem to respect bike riders.
Best of Luck!
