What I think is so funny is the Pat Parks in calf., said to a friend of mine that the forum for Saba is so supportive and that the students talk about how fabulous the profs are.....well we know the truth and she does not realize the forum is highly censored. My friend told her the truth about her experience with Saba, which she passed all her exams and went through the programs because she had a background as a PA.

So we all know that people are reading what we put on the forums or at least Pat Parks is reading.

Neuro4u:

Can you please elaborate for the benefit of new users? I believe you are referring to our old Network54 SABA forum which you claim was censored.....not this SABA forum....right? The way you worded your statements might be misinterpretted and lead people to believe that this forum is censored....unless that is what you're implying?? Thanks.

I am a Saba grad and I often check out these websites. I am wondering why you would write three consecutive inflammatory posts?

As far as I am concerned, all the caribbean schools are pretty much the same. In my residency program there are students from AUC, Ross and St.George's and we pretty much all had the same med school experience and have had to deal with the same ** when applying for residencies.

If you are reasonably intelligent you will have no problem passing the USMLEs and will have very good residency programs to choose from. My board scores were >220 and I got an IM spot in my home state and I was only an average student while on Saba.

Neuro4u...............lighten up. Why would you care if Saba censors its board? At least it prevents it from becoming like most of these forums where drop-outs and transfers spread rumors and lies about these schools. I think the old Saba forum was a good source of info for people who were serious about going to saba.

My 2 cents.

sabatdb,
Thank you for giving us new students some reassurance. Since you've already gone through med school, can you tell me what USMLE books you would recommend? I'm going to be a new student this Sept., and I would like to be prepared as much as I can. Thanks!

Why would you care if Saba censors. When I log on to a forum, I want to come across helpful, honest information. I don't want to read "Top Ten Reasons Why Students Chose One Caribb. School Over Another" and their reason # 1 is that the dorms have a pool or that the beach is 200 m away from their labs or that another school uses the same cadavers each semester. Let's get serious.

Dear Neuro4U,

Please note in your observations that, as of this moment, no posts on THIS Saba forum have been deleted, altered or censored in any way. What you see is what you get. I agree with sabadtb and wonder why you would make posts which could be considered inflammatory, but I believe you must have something to share so please elaborate with further verifiable info. 8)

Best of Luck to Us All!

I think that people are trying to say that there have been no censors on this new forum. But the old forum was heavily censored, it correct, if you try to say that the German teaching Biochemistry was awful, it would not be on the forum.

But we now each have our freedom to express our feelings about the school back. I tried many times to post things on the old saba forum and they would be erased, because maybe i said that the basic science professors were awful, that is my opinion, and I should be able to warn other students.
