SGU verses Ross

Ok, so I am seriously thinking about attending a caribbean school as opposed to a US school since I am getting no responses from the US schools. While talking to someone the other day they recommended Ross SOM. How does Ross compare to SGU. I suppose that I will get somewhat biased responses here on the SGU forum, but the more input I get the better decisions I can make.

isn't it kinda early in the cycle to expect reponses from the US schools? I mean most of them haven't even started to interview yet!

do a search- there are plenty of threads that dicuss the merits of one school over the other.

most of us here have only attended one or the other- so we can't really say- obviously the on the sgu forum you will have people tell you sgu is better- what else would you expect?

SGU really is better than ross, if you do a search for my old posts, i list some specific reasons why sgu is better.

Thanks...rokshana, friends of mine have already 2 & 3 interviews already and I have heard nothing, so no it is not too early in the cycle, and I expect people on this forum to say SGU is better that is why I prefaced my questioned. I suppose I could have been more clear and asked why do you think it is better.

Specifically, research Ross' problems with lack of clinical cores. Students are posting that they are graduating late because they are missing peds and obgyn.

guess that's why i got waitlisted!!:) i didn't have interviews til oct and nov!!

but seriously- if you get an interview spot before the end of the year- its usually thought to be a good sign

and its not a bad idea to apply to the caribbean schools as back up- that is what i did during my 2nd round of applying in the states.

but - the topic, 1. has been discussed endlessly on these fora

and 2. is just too general- again the only one who will even possibly be able to give a legit comparasion is someone who has bee to both- search the sgu forum and then search the ross forum and get a sense of what the 2 groups think about their respective schools- then if you have specific questions - post away!

Thanks for the replies.....Go to try the DO route as well they allow app submission as late as April 08 for the fall 08 class.
