im gonna try to get into a good uni to do my premed...but AS MY LAST RESORT i cant do that then it will be the caribbean to do my pre med...so i would do my pre med at some low tier school and transfer up to one of the big 4 or st mattews....but if i do that will i get resideny and get my licence.....or my licence in Canada ???

any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Different states have different rules. I would suggest you get an undergrad degree. There are many reasons. Short cuts in medicine normally backfire on you. So don't take any. I suggest you do your research on getting into a good US state school - they are your best value for your time and money!

if you cant get into a "good" university, why not try a smaller university?? and if you cant just meet the prereqs to get into a state university or private, then start a community college and then transfer. get a ** or BA then apply to med school.

what ever happens, try to get your undergrad units in your country. If u take ur pre-med units in the island, those units would probably be none acceptable in your home country. A lot of state governments are very territorial and they are much willing to accept units from their lowest tier colleges than anything from a foreign carribbean school. If u want to play it safe, try to finish your undergraduate degree because u never know what can happen 4 years down the road.

Smart advice above. Set your expectation high if you are just starting - however, be grounded. One correction, no island school pre-med is accepted back in the states. ValueMD is about value - Spend your money getting is a US school if at all possible. That will save you tons of effort - money and time in the long term.

All Saints, Xavier and St James have pre-med programs. Avoid them - they are worthless for college credit in the US. I know many people who have found this out the hard way.

Salutations:

MUA Nevis also has a premed program. However, I do not know if they are accepted for college credit.

They probably do not accept college credits because they want to charge students for more units.
