10 years ago I completed an engineering degree. I wasn't too concerned with grades, I got out with around a 3.0. I had a bad case of senioritus, and after a job offer was fine with grades of C-. I took one chem class and no biology.

Now I'm thinking of going and doing a premed program. If I got good grades (3.5-4.0), and did well on the MCAT, would my degree from 10 years ago throw me out of the running? How much would it hurt me?

It all depends on what your exact grades were and if that chem class counted for a premed req.

See if you can get in a good post bac program. This will save you tons of trouble. For most US schools what you did ten years ago means ZERO!~ They want to know what you can do now!!!! I will be posting some research on Post bac programs very soon as a sticky.
