Hi,

I was recently dismissed from an American allopathic medical school at the beginning of my third year (the start of clinical rotations). I am looking for foreign medical schools to start my third year at, as a transfer student with advanced standing. So far I have only looked into the Caribbean and Central American schools. Of the top Caribbean schools, a couple that I have heard back from do not accept dismissed students as transfer students. I really do not want to repeat the first 2 years of medical school. I have passed the USMLE Step 1 and ultimately want to practice in preferably something that is non-primary care (not family practice, pediatrics, or internal medicine) and possibly something along the lines of anesthesiology or pathology.

Does anyone know whether any schools in Europe would be willing to take a student dismissed from a US medical school (for issues of professionalism), as a transfer student with advanced standing (to start rotations)? And if so, do graduates of European med schools end up in the US for residency, and is it much harder to match into something non-primary care as a grad of such a school?

Thanks for any and all input
