hey guys,

well, i decided to do my undergraduate in biochem at the u of windsor in canada because its a nice quiet uni with a great pool of smart students to compete with. i really like it and it will give me oppurtunities witht he pharmacy im volunteering at and the hospitals etc. but the problem is that my parents are moving to the states and will get their green card soon. im wondering if my decision to stay here is a bad idea. i could move to the states and then only pay resident fees when applying to med school, will being a resident give me a better chance at the u.s. med schools? is it worth leaving u of windsor for?

my second question is regarding research oppurtunities and internships. how do u get them? can u only get them with the universities or are there other ways? thanks in advance for the help.

Answers as follows:
Canadian medical schools super duper hard to get into.
US Medical schools - difficult to get into but really doable.

Go to the US in a heart beat. You will be better prepared than most US students and do really well.

Isn''t there only like 14 canadian medical schools and their standards are higher than American MD schools?

I wouldn't be surprised if most canadian students gave up going to their native schools before they were even close with undergrad.

If you want to go to a US medical school, I would attend school in the United states. If you are going to end up in the Caribbean you may be able to stay in Canada, but looking at the class profiles, a very large number of students are American.

Is the canada windsor related to the caribb one? if so you may have a good chance of going to windor med school.

Anywho Hope this helps a little.
