Hi J,

Did you call me at home two days ago? If you did, I am sorry I missed your call. I went to visit my wife at Loma Linda University. I went ahead to BN to buy the list of books you posted in VMD. I should be receiving them in two weeks.

Do you know of any free online video sites that I can study Anatomy and physiology? I was would like to brush on my biochem, genetics physical examination before getting on campus September 07, if you know of any website where these info can be gotten please alert me. Thank you

Chuks

Just wishing all the new students this coming September all the best. IAU has a very good program (one of the best in the Caribbean) and high standards so you just have to STUDY WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT and face the positive challenges ahead while enjoying the Caribbean sun.

Goodluck to all the new students!

For all those incoming/accepted students looking for housing, please email one of us on the New Student Committee: IAU Student Government Association (http://www.iau.edu.lc/sga/NSC.html) such that we can locate/take pictures/book a room for you in advance, as housing is filling up and we are going to be on break beginning August 20th. Additionally, if you know anyone here or back home that you would like to share a place with (i.e. be roommates), let us know as well, as 2 and 3 bdrm places are more easily accessible.

THANKS, IAU NSC

You should be looking at, at-least 20 fellow new students; however this is not to say other students are not to follow, as their is still some time for those accepted to make their final decisions.

See you soon

I am stating in fall 07 just wanted to know how many students can stay in the apartments?

Apartments are available with or without A/C and in 1-2-or-3 Bedrooms. It all depends on what's availabe or what you are looking for. The sooner you let someone on the New Student Committee what your preferences, we'll try to work to find something that will suite your needs. Please keep in mind, coming a few days prior to the start of school, will allow you to find and settle upon the housing of your choice.

and for first semester students is dorm or apt better?

As far as preference goes, most students will choose living in apartments-either in a single or sharing with others. Nevertheless, the dorm has it's own pluses, in that you pay a flat fee in which all your utilities/fees are included, in addition to having A/C. As far as coming to the island, it's at least an option to have if you haven't lined up anything in advance.

I am stating in fall 07 just wanted to know how many students can stay in the apartments? and for first semester students is dorm or apt better?

Apartments are subject to availability - so please let your intentions as to what you prefer be known to the Dallas office staff ASAP so they can determine what is available.

The apartments have different rooms and options as well (some have A/C, some don't - some have multiple bedrooms, others are singles, etc.) I have heard some students say that staying in the dorms first semester to get your self situated and then look for private apartments on your own after first semester is a good way to go - I have personally stayed in apartments since I've been here. Most students go this route - so I'm sure that has to say something about the preferred method of housing down here.

Any questions about what you should/shouldn't bring are available in previous posts on ValueMD - hopefully you'll find all of the information you are looking for here. If not - please contact the NSC (New Student Committee) members for further information or contact the Dallas office directly.

Congrats on your acceptance and I look forward to seeing you next semester.
