Newer Textbooks Better?

Question for you all:

As Im trying to buy books for 1st semester, I've noted that at least 2 books have new editions coming out during the semesters...
i.e:
Anatomy BRS -new release Sept 1 2007
First Aid Step 1 - new release December 2007

Since classes start soon, is it better 2 wait 2 get the newer editions or will the old editions suffice? (the last anatomy brs is 2004 and the last first aid was 2006)?

Most board books update when they get info that the board exam is asking new or different type material. The focus shifts sometime and the board review companies need to keep up. I would wait on the new ones, but an old one from a 1st semester student when you get here for $20.

normally the presentation of the books change for the better. usually with the new editions they have better, and more color coordinated charts which could faciliate learning. One very good thing that 2004 anatomy brs had over its previous editions were the summaries at the end of each chapter. You dont need 1st aid right away. If i was you i would the new brs as soon as it becomes available. You def need to be on top of your anatomy
