I was rejected from the Ross May'04 class about two weeks ago and really could not understand why (3.75 GPA in my Post Bacc) so I called Dr. Clutter last week.............he called me back today saying it was a mistake and they are overnighting the acceptance letter today.
Talk about a heart attack, does this normally happen? Either way, I am excited to be on my way.

wow......that is something new
After completing the application process I have been waiting since October 2003.....for Sept. 2004 class, don't know what's going on with the admissions committee...still no word.
That is some shock! I'd be pissed...

Just imagine the guy who got the acceptance letter by mistake :D
I wouldn't answer the phone if I were him.

Sometimes the NJ office makes the actual mistake. I had an instance where the paperwork I sent them was misplaced. There was a guy with the same first name as me and his transcripts were in my folder. I was surprised to find out I had attended a community college in the middle of nowhere... They have thousands of applicants every year.
So advice for new applicants:
1. Always send any materials to the admissions commitee registered mail. That way they cannot say they didn't receive it.
2. Make copies of everything you send them. That way you don't have to rewrite everything in case it gets lost. If you get rejected you can always reapply using the old application.
3. Call the NJ office when they should have received the materials (ie 1-2 weeks after mailing it)
4. Have the NJ office tell you exactly what they have received and put in your file. They are human after all...
5. Write down all correspondence and/or telephone calls you made, the name of the person you talked to and what was said.
Remember all the above can be a pain in the neck but this is your education we are talking about. As a physician you will need to document everything about a patient anyway.
Finally everything is action oriented. Don't just sit by the phone and pray (even though that may help too) but do something about it...Call them
Good luck

That's totally typical of Ross.
Sorry to hear, but happy they cleared their mistakes.

Now I am a bit nervous. I was accepted with a 3.0. I hope I was not sent a wrong acceptance letter. Should I call to make sure? I have already received the welcome package and even put my deposit. That would be just horrible if they took back their acceptance.
Any suggestions?

dont sweat it. Im almost positive your acceptance is legit. I know a few people who were accepted with a 3.0 and some even less! I have yet to hear from someone who was rejected.... but then again what business would they have on this forum after being rejected.
See ya in May!

Oh Geez,
I sent in the deposit a while ago, but I know it had to be in by May 4th, Hopefully they got it and have not bumped us from May 04!
Better call first thing Monday to make sure! We got the welcome packet, but not sure, if that means anything.
Oh dear - a little paranoia setting in. Thanks for the heads up though.

I've had Ross NJ lose my stuff alot.
I happened to be near NJ again after I got accepted.
So I drove by there and personally hand delivered the check.
A week later, I called in to make sure they got it.
They said they had not.
A long story short, a week after that, they confirmed that they got it.
Where that check was hiding for over a week, I don't want to know.
This was back in April 2003, in the middle of the DeVry transition.
I hope they're better organized now.
