Hard to say. What is the rest of your GPA? If you are over 3.5 - non issue.

As long as you don't have too many Cs you'll be fine. Just make sure your overall GPA is high. Also, it's not the end of the world if you do bad in your first year. If you show a very significant improvement over the course of your college career, med schools will take that into consideration.

Just don't get a D... if you have a D or lower... its really bad.

I think he is saying can I get into SGU with a C in chem1.

To be honest I wouldnt be thinking about SGU, Id be thinking about retaking it so i could get into an American Med school.

Always keep caribb in the back of your head so youll have a backup. For me I will be applying to several DO schools and a few MD caribb schools. You just have to know where you stand before u rule out the better options.

So retake it and get an A, and dont get below a 3.4 in science and you shouldnt need to spend your entire undergrad career wondering if your going to get in.

Agreed

However, to answer your question, a C should not kill you, as long as the rest of your grades are better. If you wind up having to go the caribbean route, along with SGU, you should apply to AUC and Ross.
