Hello. Are there any Czech students or other people who could answer my question? Or does anybody have a contact with any Czech student who could give me some information?
I'm interested in how the postgraduate training looks like in this country? After finishing the studies is there any internship like in some others European countries? How long does it last? Does it end with any exam? And later what one has to do to get into the speciality training?
What is the salary?

hey there, i know someone who is currently specialising in abdominal and plastic surgery in Czech Republic (in a place called Hradec Kralove). He told me that after the general medicine program is completed, one has to do hospital practice for 3 yrs. (which is sort of the residency) and then you choose the specialty. In case of surgery, it takes 5 yrs. (after the 3rd yr., you take an exam for getting a general surgery permit and after the 5th yr., you take an exam for your specialty).

i believe this system is quite common throughouut the rest of europe too (although the length of the residency and specialty might differ)
