where are neilc, mikhlos and the others?

guyz just wonderin where is Mr. Charles Encyclopedia--neilc...or i guess drneilc by now....i tried sending him an e-mail bt i guess it didnt work....and where are the others? Mikhos (Mr. European + World encyclopedia)? euromed? drewshaker?

its too bad that most of the guyz are leavin as they are awesome sources of info. about EE med schools.....

(Dr) Neilc - As far as I know, doing his OB/GYN residency somewhere in Cali. In which case, he is working like a dog (OB/GYN has among the highest hours worked, second only to General Surg. I'd gauge), so I wouldn't imagine he'd have time to waste on us kids.

(Dr) Miklos - wondering the same thing myself. His account got permanently banned at SDN, which disturbs me a bit. Hopefully it doesn't turn out he was doing anything shady. He may have taken Step 1 by now, I know he was hoping for a Pscyh residency.

drewshaker - not sure where he is. I just remember reading in a thread a while back he was unhappy at Charles and dropped out.

euromd - no idea.

medical_student_hungary has posted once a twice lately, and he could probably adequately put the fear of God into you regarding Euro med schools.

well i just hope i wont be in drewshaker's position (he should have really stayed...bt i'm no judge so i guess he really didnt like the coll)

abt medical_student_hungary...yes, i would never even talk to a guy like this coz he seems to be pessimistic (bt also realistic to an extent)....personally i dont want to talk to this guy coz i'm just gonna feel that i made a mistake opting for Charles....

Well, isn't that exactly how Miklos was? I can't remember a post of his that ever reccomended going to Europe for medical school. He openly said he wouldn't do it again if he could go back in time. I guess I'm just the type that would rather know as many negatives as possible before I do something; I'd rather expect the worse and be pleasantly surprised than expect something good and go in with a blindfold on.

i do agree with you on knowing the negatives n stuff (coz you get both sides of the picture and besides you might also end up being suprised when you get there)...bt medical_student_hungary is downright pessimistic and depressing man...i mean he goes beyond his limits.....mikhlos on the other hand actually helps you if you tell him that you've pretty much decided to study in europe (and he has Charles Univ. in high regard).....

I'm still here. I used to be more active. But 4 kids and meds and a job just seems to prohibit my more active participation here lately. I used to be pretty involved with those guys. I'm in Slovakia.

Didn't know Miklos was banned - he always seemed to present detailed, thoughtful and helpful responses. Anyone know what happened?

Anyhow, I'm happy to answer questions when I'm around.

Hi,

I'm in the 6th year - 4 state exams to go and I'm DONE. It's great starting to plan for the other side. My husband just finished and he is now prepping for USMLE hoping for a July 1 start date for next year (tight timeframes I know).

We start back Monday.

Why? Are you thinking of joining us here? I think we are up to 60-70+ new entrants per year now.
