Hi,

I applied at this school just last month, but was told they were no longer accepting foreign students. They did offer me an alternative though, saying that they could guarantee me a spot in a school in China. The thing is though, I have to make a $5,000 dollar payment as soon as possible for my seat to be reserved, but they didn't even let me know the name of the school. They said they would send me a copy of the acceptance letter once I paid. Any suggestions of this sounding weird/fishy? I don't think so, as I am dealing directly with the school and not an agent, but I just wanted some opinions. Here is a link to the school: Program for International Medical Students (http://www.medfak.ni.ac.yu/IMS/ISM.htm)

Thanks for reading

$10,000 USD a year, are they out of their mind?! Run away from this program as fast as possible.

No way! They want 5 G's just for acceptance? Forget it, it smells like a scam. Don't even think about applying here. There are plenty of spots at other schools.

Thanks for the replies. Yea I'm just forgetting about the program all together. The only downside is that I lost 75 dollars in applying there, but its a lot better than losing 5,000 possibly. I found out that that wasn't actually the official website either.

Exactly. A lot of kids go to these schools site unseen because they figure the airfare is too expensive. Then they drop out after the first year because they are miserable in the environment. So if they had just "wasted," the 500 bucks on a plane ticket, they would have saved thousands they wasted.

Obviously, not the same situation as yours, but it's a corollary.
