View Full Version : It would be courteous to inform me of the reason my thread was LOCKED!

I have been reading up a lot of things so far and because I have interacted with CMU, I was curious to find out more about them, most importantly get a good impression of the school - outside of what I am being told by them, which would of course be biased.
Learning from both sides would only facilitate making the most informed decision possible - I mean it is not a joke to go to a school for 4 years and find out that somewhere along the line, something prevents you from achieving your untimate goal of becoming a doctor.
I am seriously asking that both parties put aside thier harsh views, and allow people to actually benefit from the resouces available here.
I would like to think that students can come here and express their true and honest views, while the officials step back and understand how big a step this decision is, and not focus on their obvious intention of defending their school, for the sole purpose of grabbing as many students as possible.
There is a lot at stake here.
You may want to wait till the school is listed on IMED before giving it any serious thought.

I can understand that some opinions may not be what certain people want to read but the least you can do is COMMUNICATE that to them.
I'm not even sure what in this thread could warrant it to be locked, http://www.valuemd.com/caribbean-medical-university-cmu/138117-opinions-about-cmu.html except that I may have stepped on a certain person's toe and honestly it's not a stretch to figure out exactly who!
Immaturity and dictatorship reigns here I guess!

dt, thanks for your comment in that thread, suffice to say that it's obviously a sore point for some people whenever that information is shared.

In all honesty I had not entirely ruled out going to CMU as a student, but this single experience regarding an attempt to stifle an opinion or prevent potential students from getting honest and fair information.
This alone has swayed me AGAINST attending CMU.
It obviously shows that there is an attempt to hide something and is enough to confirm a mere suspicion I had.
Up until now, I was giving CMU the benefit of the doubt, but this has given me a glipmse into the REAL CMU tactics.
Congratulations, you just lost a potential student by your desperate over-zealousness!.

It wasn’t the CMU's administration that locked the thread but probably one of the moderators. I'd like to know too, why it was closed.
If none of the moderators or admin owned up to locking the thread, then maybe valuemd.com was hacked??

actually i locked the thread and meant to merge it with another one as it was redundant a few minutes later. But I wound up busy with something else first.
But I cetainly 2nd the notion that immaturity reigns here. And I highly suggest you take the time to reread the Terms of Service (http://www.valuemd.com/disclaimer.php) you agreed to with regard to not flaming others.
its a good idea to be sure of yourself before making a hostile accusation,.

Good point, I just got into Ross so no need to consider them further. You may want to wait till the school is listed on IMED before giving it any serious thought.

Thank you for consistently having the courtesty to demonstrate you at least following along (as evidenced by consistent replies to PM and posts) in spite of it all being so boring. conscientiousness is good in a physican. Ross is lucky to get someone like that.
