Any medical school will remain unproven until such time it can provide an example of a graduate with an unrestricted medical license to practice in the location of interest.

if I was to sugar coat a piece of dog-poop and called it a dognut, its still going to be dog-poop on the inside.
And if you were to take a donut and smear dog poop on the outside and call it crap, it would still be a donut inside. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to build your credibility. New posters on here who come in bashing a school usually are not taken seriously.
Just my $0.02.

WiiGirl, you got spunk!
That's a good thing, btw.
(I have nothing to add to this thread. ;-)

Hey WiiGirl I'm also a current student at Xavier. I think your posts are correct but partially correct, there are always 2 sides to a story, you it seems always focus in on the negatives on Xavier, there are also a FEW good points. I am not sayin the school is perfect, but i dont think its the worst out there either. Every school has its problems and no one school is perfect. As for your credibility, i dont belive u have posted any false info in any way.

I wish I had known what was broken with this school. In fact, all the info I got was how good it was, and the promises of things to come. ... I was not on their payroll. So, take what I post with a huge grain of salt, and certainly check it out for yourself. But believe it, I am not posting anything that is not true.I think future medical students need to keep in mind is not "the promises of things to come" but how are they now. If the school does not have it now - it will most likely not happen later. Things happen slow in the islands due to many conditions. If a school does not have a building when you apply - It will most likely not have one several months from now either. If they don't have professors that have great lectures now. They most likely will not have them in a semester either. Also a school without any state approvals and new is a very big risk to take with your money and time.
Whether I have alot of time on my hands or not is irrelevant. I certainly hope you're not one of those ppl who resort to attacking one's character because you don't like the message. Maybe you could just have an opinion about the post rather than the poster. Hmmmmm?
But, let's put this into perspective... for example, if I was to sugar coat a piece of dog-poop and called it a dognut, its still going to be dog-poop on the inside.
After reading your 48 total posts so far, I have to say I cringe at what could motivate you, You came in venting about throwing caution to the wind, 2 days later you reposted the same thing.......and....urgh, did you actually get accepted, get financial aid and register and pack up amd move to aruba, and attended classes and stayed somewhere or did you just drop out of the sky, notice a few things about xavier, ran straight out here to vent.
You know what.....you need a doctor. Don't bother replying, until I graduate..I just realized something about you, something so obvious I don't know how I could have missed it, well I had not read your previous posts to know and I just did.
Seek help.

WiiGirl,
you have to look into schools yourself. you can't just listen to opinion and then make a decision (a 200,000dollar decision no less!). doing so is completely and utterly ignorant, and shows a lack of intelligence that is alarming.

WPW, when you find some time, please share what you can about Xavier. I'm really curious to find out the quality of lectures given, if the students are expressing their accreditation concerns to the school officials on campus, and the feedback they are getting. Did you get a chance to meet any of the graduating students and have you heard any firsthand information of their onward move to residency.
Overall, given all you know now while in school at Xavier, do you still feel you made the right decision to choose to attend there?
You do seem to be coping well despite the negative things. That gives a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.

this semester, the quality of our teachers is excellent. we got rid of the bulk of our not so good teachers this semester. I dont know how long which professor will stay because they seem to come and go often, but right now I am very satisfied with the lectures.

oh ya, we did meet some graduated students who have now started residency. One spoke at our white coat ceremony last semester and was very helpful, and the other taught a little prep course for a month before his residency began. We have only met two graduates personally so far.
