Well, you'll certainly see some rare VD cases there!! Aside from that, it's probably not the best school in phils. Go for the top 8, especially if you intend to practice in US/Canada

AUF is a decent med school and is recognized in all 50 states in the US (they don't have US clinical rotations though). If you want to practice in the US you might want to inquire with Fatima as they have some US clinical rotations. They are expensive though.
As for top colleges in Asia, it's difficult to say as each country has a different criteria. There is a new DUKE-NUS program in Singapore but it looks VERY competitive for admission. I assume you are from India. In the Philippines, med schools there train their students for service inside the country. UP rarely accepts foreigners and in UST, most of the so-called "foreign" students are Fil-Americans.

I've encountered several AUF graduates though I can't really gauged them concerning their knowledge in the basic sciences perhaps this little information would help: http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/examresults/20070815_phys08152007.pdf
this was the result of the latest Physician Licensure Examination held in the Philippines, the passing rate of AUF is in page 2.
And also I've heard that most of the Indian nationals studying medicine in the Philippines are currently enrolled in AUF.

Thats a great link!!! If nothing else, it gives you some perspective of how well the grads and from which school do in the exams. Wow! Thanks for sharing that. I woder if there is a similar publication from USMLE?

auf auf... hm.. well seeing as i go to auf (** biology 3rd year) i think i can help you out here a little.
undergraduate courses here are pretty good. if you want to go into nursing it's one of the best schools there is. by the time you graduate you'll have been doing 8 hour shifts 3-4 days a week in public hospitals for 2 years. that's real hands on experience in the surgical ward, ob-gyn and emergency ward, stuff they'll never let you do in the US. (my sister had already delivered 5 babies on her own -- 3 natural and 2 C-section -- by 3rd year 1st sem, if i'm not mistaken.)
med tech, pharmacy, physical therapy are also pretty good here from what i can tell. it's really intensive though, you can get a workload of up to 32 units a sem. how much students really learn i'm not sure, but you'll really be put through the wringer here. each of these also have internships.
now about medicine... personally do not want to continue med here because i'd like a change of scenery and a chance to start living independently. if i do not get into ANY of my other choices then i guess i'd have to put aside my pride and go here. though i pray really hard that i can get into UST.
as for the quality of education in the med school here, i'm not sure. i do know that someone got 10th place in the boards this year, and the university gave her a shiny new Vios. but aside from that i don't know much.
they're not very strict on who gets in, probably because so little apply, but getting in doesn't mean you'll stay in does it? i heard, i'm not sure about this, but i heard that if you fail one class, you have to start again from first year. yikes... i'll ask around and confirm that one first.
and yes, there are a LOT of indians who study med here. a whole new batch just came in last month.
