I hope somebody can help me. I have a job offer in NEW MEXICO. But they they advised me to take my USMLE step 1 and 2 again bc its 10 years after my step 3. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
would I retake (which is time/money/energy consuming):?:? IS THERE AN EASY WAY OUT? ....is NM very strict like tennesse? Can I ask the board to waive the 10 year rule? is the board very strict about this rule?
:confused::confused::confused:HELP ME PLEASE

It is my understanding that almost all states require you to pass all 3 steps within roughly 7 years. If NM has equivalence with a non-7-year state then you could try that route.

you aren't going to find any love in any other state either. most states have the 7 year rule, there are a few out there that have the 10 year rule. there might be one or two that don't have a rule (can't name them if there is), but you are up a creek without a paddle if you don't get all your step exams in a certain amount of time, and over 10 years is not good. not only that, but for NM licensure, make sure your medical school is either

1) CA approved, or
2) you've practiced in another state for 3 years, with no problems.
