Im getting super frustrated in lack of consistancy with my qbank and uw scores; i'll have a streak of tests with scores in mid to low 60s and others i litterally bomb and am nowhere near those scores. I end up having terrible study days on my bad test days. Anyone dealing with the same issues????

Also does anyone have any great ideas of how committ pharm to memory??? Im going nuts with that!

Thanks!

60s high or low in UW is great! Just look at your cumulative or check to see if theres more of one subject on the test you're bombing, maybe you're just weak in a certain area.

thanks for the advice aswaich, but along with scoring those 60s i'll get scores as low as in the 30s. It's just a wide range b/w my scores! i dont know if has to do with my stress level at the time i take the test or what. im just nervous that when i take the test i will be in the same state of mind as when i do crappy.

The variation in test scores is natural.
Let p = probability of getting a question correct = 0.6
Let n = the number of questions in a test , say 50

Then, a test can be considered as a binomial distribution B(n,p).
The mean of the distribution would be 0.6
The variance is p(1-p) = 0.24
the sd of the mean is sqrt[(p(1-p)/n] = 0.07

A 95% confidence interval for a test percentage is [.46, 74]

Thus, it is not surprising that your percentages bounce around in this interval -- it is the normal variation you would expect.

lol.. tell me about it.. my first uw was 36% and yesterday it was 88%.. so far.. three tests under 50.. hope thats a good thing. dont go for the mean.. go for a "range on mode".. it takes out those outskirt scores.. im gonna have a tough time sayin bye bye to 88. :(

as for pharm.. im with u on that one too.. i had considered it one of my strengths because i did ok in school, then i realized i probably used my short term memory. Now accepting it as a weak subject and reserved a week for pharm near the end. Also, going beyond FA for most asked chapters.

For what I have heard Pharma, histology and bioch.in UW is not very representative of the real exam.
Embrio is right on the money, pathology as well and behavior science and the anatomy section.
Now dont get me wrong, its a great tool for the test, actually the best bank around, Im just giving my humble 2 cents.
