Yes, it does. I never used it, I just use my first name. Its up to everyone individually. (unless the school has a policy on it)

Off on a total tangent! Starbucks is really bad. many of these Islands have a Dutch coffee called Doue Eberts (SP?) that rocks.

After that Starbuck is pale to community coffee (a brand). I really don't like Starbucks and just don't see the attraction unless you are a yuppie. The stuff sucks. On Bonaire they have good brew there. I used to get it in the little market down on main street in Kralendijk. It would start my day off well. I can't remember the name. Any help folks?

I looked at Dr. P's CV. link#3 is pubmed search engine, links#4 an 6 are the same articles Also link #6 is not something new. Soviets in 1964 already did research, check ncbi.nlm.nih.gov On the other hand it's easier to do research when you know results. Could not find PhD title, wrote directly to Dr. P, but he refused to tell when and where he completed PhD. I have his reply, if somebody is interested can forward it.

I do not know, you can ask dr P directly, i am afraid he is not gonna answer. All these suddenly appeared phds look very fishy. Why not to tell title of phd and university he obtained it from? why it's so big deal?

Hi
Friends!!!.

Honorary degrees should NEVER be touted as a degree earned. Usually honorary degrees are not added to the initals behind one's name- IF it is it is usually noted as such- Joe Blow, MS, MD, PhD(hon.). It is fine and dandy that it is noted he has an honorary degree because of his work- but he certainly shouldn't use it as part of his credentials to teach.

And BTW, and its an arguement of old- an MD degree is not a license to say that you can TEACH- many PhDs are far better qualified to teach medical school- especially the basic sciences- supplemental teaching from MD about the clincal aspects is helpful though.

Also FYI- it is incorrect to use both Dr. AND degree - it either OR- so for example - its Dr. Joe Blow OR Joe Blow, MD- it the few places on the cmu website NOT taken from the sgu one, so you might want to have someone correct that (or consult the grammar website mentioned in the relaxing lounge).

C'mon guys I do not see what the big deal is. I have a PhD and I usually never tell studnets to call me Dr. (I have when I teach freshman, but that is to keep a distance, overall, I tell people to call me by my first name).

It's up to you to ask students to call you Dr or not. The point is that I seriously doubt that Dr.P has PhD.

I have had discussions with people that know him from st james and they speak very highly of him. Superhumper, you are a newbie and you are on valuemd to slander a person. WHY?

One more thing. I could not find anywhere that Dr.P actually worked at Peking University. He was in China and worked as a coordinator or something at Luzhou Medical college and Xinxiang medical college far away from Peking.
