I wanted to know what is the best way to do questions so that I am learning from them and not forgetting them as I do more questions. Basically how do people learn from doing questions, should I make notes on things I get wrong, and so on.
I have completed reading the theory, and now plan on start doing questions first do the qbook questions then NBME 3 and then USMLE World then one week of first aid and give the exam. Is that a decent plan. I have 5 weeks in hand... is that too much time too little?
Any suggestions would be appreciated... I feel that I have problem memorizing things especially path and micro. I would appreciate some feedback on how I should approach the last few weeks to maximize my return. Thanks.

i agree.. if its ur first time UW.. ya, it'll take up some time.
i write down notes but very briefly. something that you can browse through fairly quickly. choose an answer in your head and use FA to look it up.. fairly a learning process, not evaluative. You go through thinking process, you learn stuff from FA (review), you read up answer explanations.

So, do other people also think Qbook is a waste of time? I mean, I have a new copy sitting on my desk, it just seems shame to let it sit there, but if it is not worth it then I rather start with USMLE World and integrate with First Aid and supplement with Kaplan books.
How long do you think it will take me to go through the whole USMLE world?
And my goal is a 220+ on step 1.
Also is it worth taking one whole day everyweek to just read First aid...thanks

Learn FA the same way you know your name, end of discussion.
You can use Q book, but I will recomend, do UW, use it as a learning tool, make notes on your FA, then only then take NBME3.
Good luck

Thanks, I will do UW making notes in First Aid, then do NBME. Hopefully I will finish UW in less then 3 weeks so that I can focus on First Aid after.

You should be focusing on First Aid, UW, and the NBMEs all at the same time. There's too much detail you have to absolutely commit to memory in those.

That's my prob, commiting things to memory, I find osmosis a lot easier. Another problem is I don't know what to commit to memory there is sooo much. But will definetly try. I have heard the NBME's only tell you a score there is no way to figure out the answers to the questions so how is it useful to focus on NBME?
