MCC of meningitis

FA says 6-60 yrs is N. meningitis
UW in its explanation says adults is S. pneumonia (q. stem presented with 44 yr and answer was s. pneumonia as well).

i never knew it would make a difference to the know the top two differentiation, mostly because q. stem would provide other clues.. but no.. and the answers were bascially the list of common causes.. more or less.

This makes a difference when it comes to UTI as well.. ;( go Ecoli.

nehoo what would you pick. N. M. or S. P.?

It's a toughie. I had a few meningitis questions on my exam, but they always gave hints to differentiate between the two, i.e. a picture
