This is my first semester at Windsor and I am in MD1. Before coming here, I read a lot of negative comments about the school on this website. However, my experience has been positive. This semester I have two anatomy teachers, one dissection teacher, embryo teacher, and a physio teacher. All the teachers are really good except one. Every school is going to have good and bad teachers, but I am encouraged that majority of teachers seem really good. Coming to the Caribbean you have to learn to be flexible and be able to live a simple life down here. If you can do that, then you will have no problem. The school is really progressing and I see it becoming a competitive school in the future. They are getting their largest batch of students next semester and for the first time they could not take everyone who has applied. All honestly, your experience here is WHAT YOU MAKE IT OUT TO BE. Come with a positive attitude, and associate yourself with fun people here who know how to be disciplined as well. I am so busy studying that I won't be able to answer any messages. Every once in a while I will post updates about my experience here, but if you have questions start a new thread and I will try to answer questions once in a while. I will not answer any questions regarding premed though because I'm not in that program. Good luck to everyone.

Before coming here, try to bring as much food as possible. You can have your parents mail some clothes later. However, most important is food around here. You can get food at the school with the free food program or purchase other items. Otherwise, after school it will make your life easier if you have food from home over here.

Many of you are messaging me about food on the island, cafeteria food, quality of housing, and school facilities. These really are small concerns. If these are your concerns don't come here. If you want quality teaching, are motivated, and are going into this new journey in your life for the right reasons. Right reasons also meaning your reasons, then come here. You really have to be strong coming here.

These are minor concerns that should not be dwelled upon. I would appreciate other questions, such as what books should I bring with me even though the school brings books. You might need books to supplement the books they provide.

Honestly, you have to be strong while you are here. If you are going to be homesick a lot of the time, then this is not the place. Everyone gets homesick to a certain point, but if its going to effect your progress, productivity, and interfere with your path to becoming a doctor, think hard before coming here.

Someone once told me, you have to enjoy the journey of medical school in order to make the most out of it. It might be hard to do that here, but you have to find a way.

I don't want to discourage anyone. I want to see anyone who really wants to be an excellent doctor to come here. I would love to help them to the best of my abilities.

We have Domino's, Subway, KFC and the Marriott plus several local ones. As well as 3 large grocery food chains. You will have no food issues. But, be prepared to pay a little bit more than home. :D

Food is really not lacking here, and good food too. I love that grill house by the bakery. It's just a bit more expensive.

Make sure you purchase the right type of freezer bag because the one I bought did not keep the food frozen. Make sure you buy the freezer bags from Sams or Costco. I bought it from some where else and it was a lower quality bag. I did not know about these other nicer freezer bags from Costco or Sams.

Current students...I think Windsor is progressing. However, if there is something you think needs to be improved or changed, we should take action. Talk with administration and write letters Dr. G. This is the only way our school will improve. I want Windsor to be an awesome school and I have spoken to local admin about few things. They do listen and want to help. They really do care here. Many students think they won't care. Speak with Dr. S and he will take action if he knows you are a serious student, but if you don't try as a student he will tell you "go to hell." That's an exact quote.
