Hi,
I heard there is a branch of UNIBE in Costa Rica offering medical degrees.
Has anyone here attended the school?
How are the facilities , courses, living conditions, etc?
What types of loans are available?
Is there housing nearby to the school , i.e walking distance?
What states can you do clinicals in?
Anyone from Florida there?
Thanks

Hi
I am starting next quarter (September) at the (Universidad de iberoamerica) in Costa Rica. They have a great curriculum and you can get subsidized and unsubsidized loans through Fafsa (united states federal gov).
They have a students life department that can help you find apartments near the school, ect. If you want to apply there is still time, make sure to add the school code when you fill out your fafsa on the web. Look for foreign school in the list of states and type "san jose" as the city.

UNIBE (Universidad Iberoamericana) in Costa Rica is not a branch of UNIBE in DR. Please don't be confuse, the FAFSA site have a school code only for UNIBE in DR not UNIBE in COSTA RICA. The only UNIBE that have federal loans (subsidize and unsubsidize loans) is the one in DR.
If anyone have doubts, please call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) or 1-319-337-5665.

The only type of loans that anyone can get to study in UNIBE in costa rica are Private Loans.

Please, also consider that UNIBE in Costa Rica tuition is $6000.00 US dollars per semester in Basic Sciences and $7000.00 US dollars per semester in Clinicals. On the other hand UNIBE in DR tuition is $4000.00 US dollars per semester in Basic Sciences and Clinicals.

I have been to the campus of UNIBE in San Jose, Costa Rica. First, they don't have the adecuate infrastructure to start any time soon the enhlish only program. Second, they are currently having many cmplications with the federal loans program as pr my last conversation with Dr. Johnson and Dr. ****. I am not counting on this program as my safest bet and I would strongly recommend any of you interested to resarch on your about this as well.
