I am going to PFU to study medicine in August. Now I have free time and am thinking a little about the future. After completing MD program I will must think about where to do the residence. US is the first choice, every people think like me. It is very hard and competitive. If we can not get admission to do residence in US, what will we do? The second choice is Europe. Thinking about England, Netherland, Italy, Belgium, Germany, France,...etc.It is very competitive, too. The third choice maybe Japan, Singapore. The last choice is going home:D, but i don't like it:mad:.

How about you? Please share with me your ideal. Let's talk about the requirements and criteria which US,Europe hospitals( except east Europe hospitals) and japan or singapore hospitals want from a candidate. Please share your experiences here. Thank you!

This has been discussed in depth on the other boards in the European section if you are wlling to go back and look through the threads. The vast majority of the information, despite not being Russia specific, will be relevant to you to the extent that it is current.

Good luck.

ps If you are not European or do not have any special rights to work in England then it will be harder to work there than the USA.

agree with you stillapplying.. although the immigration policies have toughened up in the USA.. which is good i think...

medino:
why are you worried about residency when you have not even started med school yet??
